A few weeks ago I finally purchased a new digital camera, a Canon PowerShot S3. So far its been pretty kick ass, but I havent had the chance to get out and take as many pics as I'd like to, either because of work, the weather, or other craziness. Anyways, Im quite pleased with it so far. I know its not the super bestest camera in the entire world that one could buy, but its manual control of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed set it out above many other models at that price range, and its 12x optical zoom is amazing I think.

Also, the camera does not shoot RAW format, but with a simple firmware hack that can be loaded through the memory card, called CHDK, it unlocks the ability to shoot in RAW format as well as a ton of other features that arent native to the camera originally.

Also, the camera has a built in exposure bracketing feature, which is awesome for taking High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, which Ive experimented with some, with pretty good results so far. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get out and take some awesome landscape and nature shots, so stay tuned!
